“The Brewery” Exterior Art Program

The first phase of a multi-year initiative to bring public art to The Brewery Business Complex in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. Home to 20 small businesses and non-profits, this development is recognized nationally as a model for adaptive re-use of historic buildings for community benefit.

“For JP, by JP”

Hyper-local artists had a head start in understanding the narratives that are meaningful to this community. Then after weeks of in-person engagement with abutters, neighborhood business owners, and visitors to the area, artists designed and created a new piece of public art with the dedication For JP, by JP. Embodying empowerment and prosperity, the artwork was joyfully celebrated by its home community.
