We turn housing projects into HOME through supporting local artists.

It’s those things we all do, like draping a favorite throw on a chair or hanging a picture on the wall . . . little acts that begin to make a new place feel like home. It’s also a phrase that says a thriving local arts and culture scene shapes the physical and social character of our neighborhoods and cities.
Art Makes Place provides the underpinning for our mission. We help Developers support Artists support Residents!
Housing Developers Play a Big Role in Placekeeping
Ivey Bueno Art Advisory is a full service firm helping housing developers acquire art from local artists. When buildings display art that is sourced from its home community, we create inimitable places for residents and support local creative economies. Let us help connect your project to a talented and emerging community of local artists!

A Unique Approach to Art Consulting
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We map every dollar of your art budget that benefits artists and related businesses who are local to the development’s community. We also source from artists and makers who have meaningful ties to the neighborhood even if they no longer live or work there.
We track dollars spent supporting underserved communities including women, BIPOC, disabled, and/or veteran artists, administrators, and other proprietors in the arts ecosystem.
The WHO is just as important in our mission!
Affordable Housing
With a special focus on low and mixed income housing developments, we select artwork using a trauma-informed approach. We pay attention to compositions and artist stories that convey a message of dignity and community, and avoid content that may be triggering.
Artists’ stories have the power to inspire our most vulnerable resident populations. Alongside each piece of artwork, we include a plaque with the artist’s vision, process, and sometimes their own words which describe the special role art has played in their personal journeys.
Healthy and Sustainable Buildings
Sustainable building practices not only consider the health of our environment but also the well-being of occupants and their communities. An intentional art program can help your project earn points towards high performance building certifications! Some examples:
